Broadcom Hellas SA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Broadcom Corporation, located in Alimos, Athens, offers the following job opportunities:

  1. RF/Analog IC Design Engineer (Sr. Staff engineer, IC design),

    Description

    The engineer will work with RF designers in Broadcom's Mobile and Platforms Group to develop and debug chips and systems supporting high-speed mobile technologies including EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution), WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple-Access), HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) and LTE (Long Term Evolution).

    Responsibilities include:

    • Design of Radios in various digital CMOS technologies
    • Design of RFIC blocks such as LNA, power amplifier, RF Synthesizers, IF filters.
    • Help with block architecture for RF design, RF board and module design, and lab test/debugging.

    Job requirements

    • MS in Electrical engineering or higher degree
    • 3 or more years of industry experience in Analog/RF IC Design, ideally for wireless communication systems.
    • RF transistor level design skills.
    • Expertise in CMOS RF highly desirable.
  2. RF/Analog IC Design Engineer (Principal engineer, IC design)

    Description

    The engineer will work with RF designers in Broadcom's Mobile and Platforms Group to develop and debug chips and systems supporting high-speed mobile technologies including EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution), WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple-Access), HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) and LTE (Long Term Evolution).

  3. RF Systems Design Engineer
    (Engineer, Principal - RF Systems Design)

    Description

    The engineer will work within the RFIC systems architecture team in the development and validation of cellular RFIC systems and new technology such as LTE as well as advanced 3G systems.

    Responsibilities include:

    Create concepts, generate system requirements and budget analysis, create architectures, perform simulation and analysis including the modeling of RF and analog domain non-idealities, develop physical layer algorithms and solve system level problems during the development and production stages of the product. Successful candidate must have the ability to communicate with engineers of varying backgrounds: software, digital hardware, RF IC design, operations, and marketing.

    Job Requirements

    • Prefer Masters in Electrical Engineering with more than 9 years of work experience (or 6 years with PhD) in the field of RF, RFIC, RF systems, or RF applications
    • Strong knowledge of Cellular Standards such as GSM, EDGE, WCDMA, LTE.
    • Must be able to analyze RF system such as receiver, transmitter with essential parametric (power, evm, linearity, etc.)
    • Understanding the trade offs of the RF systems design is essential
    • ADS and/or Matlab/Simulink and/or C/C++ experience is a plus.
    • Experience in Wideband single carrier or OFDM receivers is a plus.
    • Strong hands on Lab skills is a plus.
    • Knowledge of RFIC circuits such as PLL, LNA, Mixer, PGA, PA, etc.

    Broadcom Hellas is also planning to open the following job positions in the near term.

  4. Digital IC Design Engineer (Principal engineer, IC design)

    Description:

    The engineer will work with DSP, silicon, and RF designers in Broadcom's Mobile and Platforms Group to develop and debug chips and systems supporting high-speed mobile technologies including EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution), WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple-Access) and HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access). Main duties will be creation of IP cores for large SoC's in leading edge technologies. The candidate will have the opportunity to own all aspects design through architecture, micro-architecture, implementation, debug and timing closure. There will also be opportunities to extend experience into other front end work such as IP verification and integration.

    Experience is required in several of these key areas:

    • Architecture and micro-architecture definition and design
    • RTL design (Verilog preferred)
    • Synthesis
    • RTL and gate level simulation and debug
    • Previous experience with telecommunications
    • C/C++

    The current growth includes RTL design, functional verification, synthesis, PNR, physical design verification and DFT disciplines.

    Job Requirements

    • Prefer MS in Electrical Engineering with more than 9 years of work experience (or 6 years with PhD)
    • Self-motivated
    • Understanding of wireless standards (GSM, GPRS, EGPRS , WCDMA, and LTE) is a plus
  5. DSP/Digital IC Design Engineer (Sr. Staff engineer, IC design)

    Description:

    The engineer will work with DSP, silicon, and RF designers in Broadcom's Mobile and Platforms Group to develop and debug chips and systems supporting high-speed mobile technologies including EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution), WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple-Access) and HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access). The job spans pre-silicon architecture and HW/SW algorithm design/implementation/test to chip bring-up and characterization.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Develop ASIC specification, architecture, and micro-architecture of signal processing and communications algorithms
    • Define and document chip requirements, architecture, verification and lab test plan
    • Bit-exact system modeling and simulation
    • Documentation/application note development and customer support

    Job Requirements

    • MS (or higher degree) in Engineering or Computer Science.
    • 8 or more years of industry experience
    • DSP expertise
    • Strong programming skills. Knowledge of C/C++, Matlab.
    • Bit-exact MATLAB and C/C++ system modeling and simulation.
    • Understanding of hardware design principles and some HDL (VHDL/Verilog) literacy.
    • Develop and run system level simulation suites of the transceiver and perform vector matching verification with RTL simulations
    • Understanding of wireless standards (GSM, GPRS, EGPRS , WCDMA, and LTE) is a plus.
